Heating & lighting

Usually no heat source needed — crested geckos overheat easily. If the room drops below 68°F, use a low-wattage heat mat on a thermostat. No basking bulb; optional low-output UVB.

Crickets
Dubia roaches
Mashed mango or banana as a rare treat

Never feed

Citrus fruit
Baby food as a staple (nutritionally incomplete)
Mealworms and large insects (hard to digest)

Feed CGD from a shallow dish 3 times a week, with live insects 1–2 times a week. Remove uneaten CGD after 24–36 hours.

One male with one or more females can work in a big planted tank, but males housed together will fight. Solo is always safest.
